Kenya's elephant capital with stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro.
About Amboseli National Park
Amboseli National Park is Kenya's most famous wildlife park after the Maasai Mara, and it is easy to see why. With Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest peak, as a backdrop, the scenery alone is worth the visit.
Amboseli is known as the "Land of Giants" due to its enormous elephant herds. Some of Africa's largest tuskers roam these plains, and watching them against the backdrop of snow-capped Kilimanjaro is one of Africa's most iconic images.
The park offers the best views of Mount Kilimanjaro from Kenya. On clear mornings, the mountain's glaciers and summit are visible in stunning detail, creating perfect photographic opportunities.
Despite its relatively small size, Amboseli features diverse habitats including open plains, acacia woodland, wetlands, and a dried-up lake bed. Each habitat supports different wildlife, from lions and cheetahs to hippos and flamingos.
The park is surrounded by Maasai communities, and cultural visits offer insights into their traditional lifestyle and their coexistence with wildlife.
